Self Portrait

Welcome students, teachers, and friends!

To Whom It May Concern:

I would first like to thank you for taking the time to view my portfolio and invite you to return every so often as I anticipate my portfolio to continually grow and form. This portfolio has been put together to give any prospective employers, parents, colleagues, and even just friends, a better look at just who I am as a teacher, and the many things I have to offer both inside and outside of the classroom.

Included in this portfolio are a few basic elements, including a resume, a philosophy statement, a listing of my large variety of work experience outside the field of education (supplementing those listed on the resume), and letters of recommendation. In addition to these basic pieces, I've also included a selection of my lesson and unit plans, activities and assessments that I have created, and a sample of student work from my student-teaching experience.

Throughout my life, I have taken advantage of many opportunities to gain experience through diligent work habits and a quest for variety in my education. I hope to apply my experience and dedication to self-improvement in a full-time teaching position. As I value all experience, I'm rather open to all varieties of schools and age levels, although it has grown more and more apparent that I am perhaps best suited in older elementary grades. In addition to my experience and education thus far, I hope to continue my education in both the fields of education and sociology.

I hope that my portfolio will help you better understand me as a teacher and an active member of the community. I thank you again, and remind to return to check for updates. Feel free to contact me with any questions or requests for further information.

Cordially,

William M. Gelb
