To Whom It May Concern,

William Gelb recently completed his student teaching during the fall semester in my fifth grade classroom at the Fort Kent Elementary School. Mr. Gelb has proven to be a dedicated and confident individual who takes a serious interest in the learning process of children. He possesses those characteristics that are most instrumental in being a professional classroom teacher.

During the last ten weeks, Mr. Gelb has demonstrated the ability to organize and plan lessons effectively. While aligning each lesson with the Maine Learning Results, his lesson plans were expertly laid out and easy to follow. He showed great initiative by enhancing most of his lessons with extension activities that continued addressing the objectives being taught. The creation of a Nursery Rhyme Unit showcased many lessons that motivated the students to investigate their creativity and imagination. His energetic ideas constantly stimulated the children’s motivation to learn.

I was very pleased by Mr. Gelb’s ability to meet each responsibility with willingness and cooperation. He automatically adapted to the endless responsibilities of a busy school day.

Mr. Gelb has shown an ability to create and maintain a positive rapport with the students. He demonstrated extreme care and respect for every aspect of the students’ educational process, while being very sensitive to the needs and interests of the students by adjusting to different teaching approaches.

It is my opinion that Mr. Gelb has the knowledge and the energy to become an effective teacher.

Respectfully,

Gail Lamarr

Mr. Gelb works so well with technology, which all students will need now and in their future lives.

He is very knowledgeable in all areas of the curriculum.

In asking questions of the students, Mr. Gelb easily formulates a statement of question to help students clarify their answers.

After reading and discussing whatever the section/chapter may be, Mr. Gelb initiates a project. He has recognized the usefulness of having students do what they have read and studied.

Mr. Gelb has a fine speaking voice and is always in control of the classroom
