Manierre Elementary School, Chicago, IL; Autumn 2002. Conducted active observation of 5th grade classroom. Participated in the formation of a mathematics lesson study , and instructed the devised lesson. Tutored students in mathematics and social studies .

Mayer Elementary School, Chicago, IL; Autumn 2002. Engaged in literacy building lessons in a 2 nd grade classroom, working directly with a handful of illiterate children. Developed and orchestrated a science integration activity for the entire class. Administered an in depth child study on a single child, documenting cognitive, social, and language development. Developed educational suggestions for individualized educational planning for this child.

Ward Elementary School, Chicago, IL; Spring 2002. Observed lessons in a variety of subject matters in a 5 th grade classroom. Discussed many educational issues with an experienced teacher. Assisted teacher in orchestrating and chaperoning of a field trip. Conducted a child study on a special education student, confirming his diagnosis and suggesting alternative methods to better address his individual needs.

Parkway Northeast Middle School, Creve Coeur, MO; Autumn 1998, Spring 1999, Spring 2000. Participated in two separate team teaching programs.Organized and conducted a three-lesson unit on tobacco use awareness,integratingsocial studies, science, and language arts. Twice participated in a four-lesson program designed to guide adolescents through topics of self-esteem, adjustment, and integrity. Coached and coordinated the teaching team in the second year of participation.
